New Jersey Devils open their wallet and sign former 6th round pick to a massive 63 million dollar deal
The New Jersey Devils have had a busy offseason. After a disappointing playoff run that ended up the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes. The team has been busy. Last week, they dealt defenseman Damon Severson to the Columbus Blue Jackets and now they have locked up one of their restricted free agents for the next eight seasons.
Today the team announced they'd signed Jesper Bratt, a former 6th round pick to an 8-year $63,000,000 deal.
Hearing NJ and Jesper Bratt are closing in on an 8-year extension with a $7.875M AAV. Do the math and it's $63M � which happens to be Bratt's jersey number.
This is a great signing which helps the Devils lockdown their core long-term.
