Earlier on Thursday, New York Islanders forward and the American Hockey League's top goal-scorer for the 2022-23 season, Andy Andreoff, was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

According to Russian media outlet, Sport-Express.ru, Andreoff is expected to sign in the KHL with HC Sibir Novosibirsk.

Note: the following quote is translated from Russian.

"As it became known to 'SE', Canadian striker Andy Andreoff can continue his career in 'Siberia'." Mikhail Zislis of Sport-Express said.

The 32-year-old was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round in 2011 and went on to spend parts of seven years in their system. After one year in the AHL with Syracuse, he moved on to the Flyers organization for two seasons, before spending the last two years in the Islanders system.

In 69 games in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders this past season, the Pickering, Ontario native had 65 points (37 goals, 28 assists), 64 penalty minutes and was a minus-14.
