Earlier today, it was reported that New York Rangers forward and enforcer Matt Rempe was on the ice for morning optional skate, which meant he was likely going to be scratched once again from participating in a game during these playoffs. However, it would appear he's likely to play as he was seen doing his pregame ritual on the bench.

Rempe, who has been scratched for three of the last four Rangers games, does admirably when he's inserted into the lineup, but when he's called upon, he serves a purpose and that is to be a heavy presence to instill fear and to give his teammates a bit of a pick-me-up when required.

Whether Rempe does get into the lineup seems a bit irrelevant, however, if the Rangers need to solve a problem, namely, Sam Bennett. Having the 6'7 monster available would likely be in their best interest. Bennett, who is known to be a pest himself, has the ability to tow the line, something that Rempe can fix if given the chance.

If Rempe plays the game the right way and stays out of the penalty box, he can be an impact player and the type of player that can help make a difference. It's not for certain, but if the Rangers have any chance at winning the series, wearing down the Panthers would help. This is the perfect opportunity for Rempe to thrive, if called upon.
