December 2, 2022, the New York Rangers played host to the Ottawa Senators, which was the second game of a home-and-home between the two franchises.

During the game, Senators captain Brady Tkachuk dropped the mitts with Rangers captain Jacob Trouba at center ice at Madison Square Garden, one of the most famous arenas in the entire world.

Tkachuk was a guest on 'Dropping the Gloves' recently and opened up about the tilt, saying he felt like UFC legend Conor McGregor.

"I'm not gonna lie to you, I felt like McGregor. I felt like, it was a pretty unbelievable feeling, I'm not going to lie to you. Center stage of MSG, that was something I'll never forget. I don't know, it was at the end of my shift and I was skating to get off the ice and you know, he asked me 'can you give me one?'. I was like 'alright, sure'. If we're doing this, immediate center ice and I was thinking, 'this is pretty cool.'" Tkachuk said.

That fight wasn't the first time Tkachuk and Trouba dropped the mitts. The previous season during a game in Ottawa, the two fought in a pretty intense bout.

The Senators and Rangers will face each other three times during the 2023-24 season - December 5th & January 27th in Ottawa and April 15th in New York. It'll be interesting to see if the two captains will go toe-to-toe again in any of the three matches this coming season.
