Claude Giroux thinks changing this one ridiculous item will ensure the Sens make the playoffs
The Ottawa Senators have a good young core and they're hoping to take the next step soon, but from the sounds of it, they need their leadership group to do a little more.
On a recent podcast appearance General Manager Pierre Dorion shared that Giroux thinks changing this one thing will help the Sens make the playoffs.
Dorion: Giroux told me we'll make the playoffs next year if we don't have to wear ties. I believe in doing things the right way still, and believe in having structure for the young guys, but we eased up towards the end of the year
Giroux going to his general manager to ease up on the dress code is understandable, but believing it will help you make the playoffs is insane. I don't think that's the reason they haven't won anything.
Whatever happened to players in the National Hockey League holding themselves to a higher standard? I'm of the mind that the relaxation of these rules are partly why players aren't taking the game so seriously.
With an attitude like that, it's no wonder why Giroux and the Senators haven't won anything.
