Ryan Reynolds sells company for 1 billion dollars, appears close to purchasing Ottawa Senators
Ryan Reynolds has made his intentions clear from the very beginning. He wants to be part of an NHL ownership group and he currently has his eyes set on being apart of the group that purchases the Ottawa Senators. At this week's General Manager meetings the NHL announced they're reviewing all offers and a deal should be finalized in the coming weeks.
The NHL hasn't hidden their interest in adding Reynolds to an ownership group. Reportedly going as far as to ask bidders if they'd be willing to fit Reynolds into their ownership group. It's clear the NHL views Reynolds as the perfect high profile owner to draw additional interest to the game.
When initial reports leaked the expected value of the Senators was expected to be around $700,000,000 but now the league reports offers are nearing the $1,000,000,000 rang. Clearly great news for the league.
This week Reynolds and his partner a took a surprising step selling their company, Mint Mobile to T-Mobile. The deal will pay Reynolds group over $1,300,000,000 and will see Reynolds himself net $100,000,000.
This deal gives Reynolds the full share he'd require to purchase his portion of the Senators. With the league pushing in Reynolds direction it's likely only a matter of time before Reynolds gets his wish.
Given what Reynolds has done with Wrexham FC, it's likely he's exactly what the Senators need.
