This is a great example of go big, or go home. Former NFLer Jason Kelce, who spent his entire 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, has told the story of an NHL captain who took no prisoners when he came into an NFL locker room.
The Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis, recently aired their New Heights podcast and were asked which NHL player they felt could make the transition to football. Jason Kelce reflected on his time in Philadelphia and answered Claude Giroux, calling him a guy who had no issue standing up to anyone.
By the way, this story is backed up by an interview with Jakub Voracek from 2022. Voracek was a teammate of Claude Giroux with the Philadelphia Flyers and confirmed the now Ottawa Senators captain has a love for arm wrestling and taking on all challengers.
Claude Giroux, who had his car stolen in Ottawa during the NHL preseason, is generally a very well liked guy in the locker room. But, he plays with intensity that he apparently matches when challenging people to arm wrestling. A current teammate of Giroux's with the Ottawa Senators, David Perron, recently stepped away from the team for personal reasons, making Giroux's veteran presence and intense style all the more important for the Sens.
