After weeks of speculation on when they would reveal their new uniforms, the Philadelphia Flyers made things official on Tuesday morning, showing off their new home and away jerseys for the 2023-24 season, as well as keeping their black alternate jersey.

While the majority of the talk regarding the jerseys is about how similar they look to the older uniforms, some people have begun to point out who the team chose to use in their promotional video and photos.

Instead of going with bigger names on the roster such as Travis Konecny, Carter Hart, Sean Couturier or Kevin Hayes, the Flyers decided to use Nicolas Deslauriers, Travis Sanheim and Joel Farabee.

The decision is beginning to add more fuel to the fire when it comes to the Flyers' rebuild and there's a very good chance that they wanted to use players that will be on the roster next season, rather than those who may find themselves on the move this summer (Konecny, Hart, Hayes, etc.).

General manager Danny Briere has already been very busy on the trade front this month, shipping Ivan Provorov to the Blue Jackets in a three-team deal that included the Los Angeles Kings. In that deal, the Flyers received goaltender Cal Petersen, as well as defencemen Helge Grans and Sean Walker.

Briere is showing no signs of slowing down and some reports suggest that he's been the most active general manager over the last little, calling teams about making a potential deal or two. As mentioned, Travis Konecny, Carter Hart and Kevin Hayes' names have all popped up in rumours over the last few weeks.
