A day after two players were placed on the wire, a former first-round pick has found himself on waivers.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Colin White on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.

"Colin White (PIT) on waivers" Friedman said.

White, a first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2015, has appeared in 11 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he's gone pointless. Meanwhile, in the AHL, White has ten points (five goals five assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-two in 21 games.

In other related news, Chicago Blackhawks forward Zach Sanford and San Jose Sharks defenceman Jacob MacDonald have cleared waivers and will be assigned to their respective American Hockey League affiliates - Rockford IceHogs and San Jose Barracuda.

"Sanford and MacDonald clear" Friedman said.
