Hockey players of all kinds have experienced so much during their lives on and off the ice that they are some of the best storytellers. If you ever have the opportunity to sit and listen to them, you should strongly consider it.
Take for instance former St. Louis Blues Kelly Chase and a story he tells the Missin Curfew podcast team about having a day off and finding out he was being traded, but in the presence of Brett Hull.
Chase shares that he received a phone call while he was golfing with Hull advising him he'd been traded; when pressed about it, he was told he was heading to Montreal. After expressing to Hull that he'd been traded he made his way to the office to talk to Ron Caron to talk. Caron looks at him and tells him that Hull called him to tell him if he goes, so does Hull.
This story shows not only what a class act Hull was towards Chase but underscores how important Hull felt Chase was to the team, the club and himself. For Hull to put himself out there expressing that if Chase were traded he'd be gone too just shows the brotherhood that hockey can have.
