After what happened in England recently, the last thing anyone in the hockey world wants to hear about right now is a skate cut. However, the Seattle Kraken's Jordan Eberle is dealing with just that right now.

Fortunately for Eberle, this cut was not to the neck. Kraken GM Ron Francis told reporters Eberle suffered a deep cut to his quad muscle after teammate JOrdan Schwartz stepped on a puck and lost his balance.

"They're doing an MRI to see if it got the tendon, so I don't know enough yet. It wasn't gushing but it was a deep cut, so they've taken him to a hospital and they're doing an MRI."

"I think we dodged a bullet. But he's going to be pretty sore tomorrow."

The MRI will determine what, if any, damage has been done to Eberle's tendon.

Skate cuts have been in the news a lot lately following the death of Adam Johnson, who died after receiving a cut to the neck during a game in the UK. His death has prompted many league to make neck guards mandatory from now on.

Meanwhile, the Kraken have recalled forwards Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton to fill Eberle's spot in the lineup.
