After making the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history during the 2022-23 season, the Seattle Kraken have not gotten off to a great start to the current campaign.

In their first six games of the 2023-24 season, the Kraken only have one win for a record of 1-4-1 and will embark on a four-game Eastern road trip on Tuesday when they face off against the Red Wings in Detroit.

The Kraken will try to use this road trip to turn things around, but according to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, they'll do so without a key forward.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Baker revealed that Andrei Burakovsky will miss the next six-to-eight weeks with an upper-body injury. If Burakovsky is to be out the full eight weeks, he won't return to Seattle's lineup until just before Christmas.

"BREAKING: Kraken have lost forward Andre Burakovsky the next 6-8 weeks with an undisclosed upper body injury." Baker said.

Burakovsky, 28, has appeared in all six of Seattle's games so far this season where he's put up two assists and is a minus-two. He missed a good chunk of the 2022-23 season, as well as the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with a torn groin and setbacks in his recovery, so to be out another six-to-eight weeks this early intoa new campaign can't feel good.
