The Kraken looked to win their third straight to tie their biggest winning streak of the season with three victories. They accomplished their goal by beating Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 last night in Seattle.
By doing so, they are back to a .500 average this season, with an 8-8-2 record, good for the sixth spot in the Pacific Division.
Unfortunately, Kraken players and fans still had a sour aftertaste after the game, because they had to watch the captain Jordan Eberle leave the game early in the second period.
Only a few seconds after the start of the period, Eberle raced for the puck against Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy. The Kraken captain couldn't control the puck, or his speed, and dangerously crashed on the boards.
After the collision, Eberle stayed on the ice, in pain, before being helped off to the locker room by his teammates and leaving the game.
Check out how Eberle got injured in the video below:
The Kraken managed to win despite losing its captain, but Matty Beniers revealed it was tough to watch the team captain walk down the tunnel:
This season, Eberle, 34, scored 11 points, including six goals in 17 games. He brings a lot of leadership to the team, and his absence will be felt in the locker room.
Further updates from the Kraken on Eberle's status are expected soon. Stay tuned as we bring forward the latest developments regarding his injury.
