It's April 1st, better known as April Fools Day, and it seems as if the National Hockey League and those who are closely affiliated with it aren't immune to having their guard up.

Tampa Bay backup goalie Jonas Johansson is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury; however, Bolts starter Andrei Vasilevski appears to be the starter tonight as they host the Detroit Red Wings; insert EBUG Kyle Konin.

Konin was advised that there was a chance that he would be dressing tonight, which he wanted to share with his family via group chat. When pressed by his dad, his father suggested he make sure it's not an April Fool's joke. Konin lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, grew up in Rhode Island, and played in the NAHL and ACHA at Grand Valley State University for their D1 men's hockey program.

Many fans who sit in the stands or at home will only dream of suiting up for an NHL club as an actual roster player or in Konin's case, an EBUG. While this scenario is still unfolding because their is a chance that Johansson could still dress, it would be quite an accomplishment. Either way, Konin remains on standby, awaiting the call for a moment he likely will never forget.
