The Tampa Bay Lightning certainly miss defenceman Mikhail Sergachev, who has been out since early February after suffering fractures in his left tibula and fibula.

Sergachev underwent surgery in the days that followed and is already making some impressive strides in his recovery just over one month since going under the knife.

In a post on his Instagram, Sergachev showed himself working out on an underwater treadmill, which comes 39 days after his surgery.

"Mikhail Sergachev's recovery continues. Already working on the underwater treadmill just 39 days after his injury in New York. Pretty remarkable. Video was posted by Sergachev on his Instagram story." Lightning beat writer Chris Krenn said.

Sergachev will most likely return to start the 2024-25 season, although a video like this one he posted on social media will make Lightning fans think he could return at some point in the playoffs, which won't happen.

As a result of Sergachev's injury, the Lightning went out on the trade market and brought in former first-round pick Matt Dumba in a deal with the Arizona Coyotes. While Dumba is a good depth addition, it's hard to replicate what Sergachev brings to the Lightning's lineup.

Going into Sunday, the Lightning occupy the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 36-25-6 (78 points) through 67 games. Without Sergachev in the lineup, they're going to have a bit of tough time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but if Kucherov, Hedman, Stamkos, Vasilevskiy, among others can be at the top of their game, a first-round upset could be in the cards.
