Tampa Bay Lightning coach Cooper apologizes for comments
Recently, Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper made some disparaging comments about skirt wearing during a news conference after the Lightning lost to the Florida Panthers. The comments made were in reference to skirt wearing, talking about the Florida Panthers goaltender, and how it appeared that goalies were being left off the hook, explaining incidental contact that may or may not have occurred during the times goals were disallowed during the Lightning and Panthers game 5.
Today Cooper walked back his comments by apologizing for the comments and admitting he was wrong. Have a look:
Cooper, who has two daughters at home, was very genuine in his apology, appreciating that occasionally we all open our mouths and the words that come out aren't how we intended, and to understand the seriousness of it, as long as the coach learns from it, it should be water under the bridge.
In the heat of the moment, comments are made, and actions are taken. The main thing is that we are all humans, and too error is human.
