The National Hockey League is 13 days out from free agency and with the free for all about to open, a former Toronto Maple Leaf could be making his way back to the team.

According to this report on Twitter, some scouts wouldn't be surprised if former Leaf Connor Brown returns to the team as free agency begins.

I think, based on no inside information, that Connor Brown is gonna find his way back to TOR here in free agency on a short, probably one-year deal, at ~1.5-2.0 million dollar range. Would not surprise me if he is Tavares' RW, either.

Brown, 29, was limited to just 4 games last season with the Washington Capitals before tearing his ACL and being out for the rest of the season.

Even though Brown was limited last season, he could he exactly what the Leafs need and it could solve the carousel of the wingers on John Tavares's line.

There would be no harm in offering the winger and fan favourite a team friendly deal, but adding a little bit of jam on the second line couldn't hurt.
