Sometimes, some things are more important than the game of hockey, even if you happen to play at the National Hockey League level, family, is one thing that takes top priority no matter what.
According to David Alter of Rink Wide: Toronto and the NHL Network, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, Sheldon Keefe has announced defender Erik Gustafsson will be leaving the team to attend to a personal matter back in Washington, take a look:
Erik Gustafsson was not on the ice as well he's not with the team due to a personal family situation he had to deal with back in Washington, per Keefe.
Gustafsson, 31, was acquired for Rasmus Sandin earlier this season, in 69 games played split between the Washington Capitals and Maple Leafs he has 7 goals and 32 assists for a total of 39 points.
I hope everything is okay as Gustafsson tends to his family and good on the Leafs for continuing to allow players to leave the team for more important matters than hockey.
