This was supposed to be the year for the Toronto Maple Leafs. At this year's Trade Deadline the Maple Leafs added Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari, Jake McCabe, Luke Schenn and Sam Lafferty. Kyle Dubas had done it, he'd finally gone all in on his roster. Unfortunately for the Leafs in only his 8th game for the team O'Reilly suffered a broken finger that required surgery, while Acciari has dealt with whiplash after a hit by Jesse Puljujarvi.

During Sunday's game against the Detroit Red Wings, the Leafs also lost Matt Murray to an injury after he was tripped by Lucas Raymond. Murray fell hard to the ice and left the game at the end of the 1st period and didn't return. Fans were hoping the removal of Murray from the game was just precautionary, but it now appears that isn't the case as the Maple Leafs recalled Joseph Woll on an emergency basis for tonight's game.

Woll is expected to get the start tonight as Ilya Samsonov is also dealing with injuries at the moment.

While the news about Murray doesn't appear to be positive, the Maple Leafs appear poised to get both Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari back into the lineup tonight. Ryan O'Reilly was the first Maple Leaf onto the ice ahead of team practice today.

O'Reilly is expected to make his return alongside Tavares and Marner on the Leafs' second line tonight.

If the Maple Leafs are able to get healthy ahead of this year's playoffs it could go along way to making sure that the team is able to finally snap their playoff curse.

Update: Ryan O'Reilly may not return tonight.

Matt Murray is considered day-to-day.
