Washington Capitals to hire former Toronto Maple Leafs coach as their new Head Coach
Since terminating Peter Laviolette the Washington Capitals have been working hard to determine who their next Head Coach should be. The Capitals have taken part in an exhaustive search to ensure they find the right candidate.
As recently as yesterday it appeared the Capitals had finally narrowed their search down to two possible candidates. Toronto Maple Leafs assistant coach, Spencer Carberry and former Capitals play Jeff Halpren.
Today however it appears the Capitals have finally made their decision and have opted to offer their coaching job to Carberry.
This will not come as a huge surprise to many, but hearing Washington is closing in on Spencer Carbery as its next head coach.
Carberry has been a top ranked candidate for many Head Coaching jobs and appears to have finally locked one down.
Update: Others have since confirmed the hire.
