Brendan Shanahan's fate with the Toronto Maple Leafs confirmed

Brendan Shanahan's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs is now much clearer after an announcement from the team about an upcoming news conference

It's another offseason filled with questions after another early exit from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Speculation is already at maximum levels over the safety of Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan. We now have a pretty good idea of what his future holds.

According to Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman, key staff members of the Toronto Maple Leafs will meet with media on Friday. Those attending include Shanahan.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs announce season-ending media availability will involve Keith Pelley, Brendan Shanahan and Brad Treliving � Friday morning."

It's a vey good sign that Shanahan is staying where he is. At the same time, noticeably absent from the list in head coach Sheldon Keefe. Keefe took questons from the media today, and said he wanted to be back. That, of course, his not his decision.

"Now more than ever I believe in myself and our team in that I will win, and our team will win [...] that decision is out of my control."

Expectations have been high for the Toronto Maple Leafs since the "Core 4" was put together. However, The team continues to struggle to make it out of the first round of the playoffs, losing to the Boston Bruins in seven games this seeason.
