Hockey is a very dangerous game that comes with a lot of risks. There are some injuries that are easier to comeback from than others and some injuries that can be season altering without being season ending. That appears to be the type of injury suffered by Toronto Maple Leafs Mitch Marner.

Marner has missed the last two games for the Maple Leafs and the team has been very quiet about his injury. Today news surfaced that Marner is dealing with the effects of a high ankle sprain.

Report: #Leafs Mitch Marner was revealed to have suffered high-ankle sprain last week. But a mild one..

A high ankle sprain is one of the most difficult injuries to possibly come back from. It limits a players lateral movement and can take up to six months to fully heal. Even a mild injury often takes 2 months for a regular person to return to full mobility, let alone a hockey player as shifty as Marner.

If Marner is unable to return to 100%, it will be a huge blow for the Leafs.
