William Nylander's absence from the Toronto Maple Leafs first round matchup has been a hot topic in hockey circles everywhere this week, and it hasn't helped that he's been missing the first three games of the series against the Boston Bruins as the team is down two games to one going into game four on Saturday, but it may now be known what he has been dealing with, at least if you believe what multiple sources are reporting.

While everyone has been tight-lipped regarding the situation, it would appear that he's possibly dealing with migraines and that it's been so severe that doctors tested him to see if he was in fact dealing with a concussion.

Secrecy regarding injuries, especially during the playoffs, is nothing new, but in a market like Toronto where everyone is hyper-focused on what is going on and criticism is at an all-time high due to the fact that the team has won one series with the core four, everyone seems to be more on edge.

If the team can determine what Nylander is dealing with and help him get through it so he can return to help the Maple Leafs later in the series, that's good for the team, and everyone is expecting big things from Leafs Nation this spring. If not, it may be appropriate for fans to consider Nylander's long-term health and what he's capable of bringing to the table night in and night out in the future, like he did during the regular season this year.
