Through 17 games this season, the Toronto Maple Leafs sit at 9-6-2, and given the injury to captain Auston Matthews, it's safe to say that as a whole, the team will be fairly satisfied with where things are.
Unfortunately, they've had some low points already this season, with one fan already throwing their jersey on the ice as the team were wiped off the ice by the St. Louis Blues.
Now however, things have gotten worse with some members of the fan base, as they fell behind 3-0 on Tuesday night in the Battle of Ontario, forcing some members of the audience to boo the team off the ice at the end of the second period.
The team would ultimately go on to lose the game by that scoreline, and even with their record being over .500 early in the year, there's question marks around Craig Berube's squad with injuries and inconsistency plaguing them for the first month of the year.
Despite getting 27 shots on net, the Maple Leafs simply couldn't put one past former Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark, and on home ice, the team were thoroughly booed by their own fans.
Unfortunately, this has become much too common place for the Maple Leafs fans, as they are often overreacting to every single game, and even with their team sitting in a playoff spot less than a quarter of the way through the season, they still have to over react.
Simply put, a matchup with the Ottawa Senators in November means much more to one team than it does the other, and while Toronto would and should be frustrated by the loss, it's not the end of the world in the slightest, so hopefully Maple Leafs fans can be a little more rational moving forward.
