The Toronto Maple Leafs are seemingly always at the centre of trade talks, whether it be news networks, reporters or fans, and now, it appears a trade could be on the way in the near future. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Jim Nill, the General Manager of the Dallas Stars was among 14 people in attendance at the Los Angeles Kings/Toronto Maple Leafs battle, signalling that trade talks could be about to intensify in Toronto.
Over the past few months, we've heard many names including Timothy Liljegren, Calle Jarnkrok, Nick Robertson and Conor Timmons involved in trade talks, and where there's smoke... there's fire. In an interview last year, GM Brad Treliving noted however that he's not one to swing blockbuster trades ahead of the trade deadline, instead opting for smaller moves, but with so many changes made to this roster, it may just be one more move that makes this team a genuine Stanley Cup contender.
With so much depth in Toronto, it may not be the year to make that move however, as it may cost them valuable pieces to get just one in return, but with all of the names above struggling to find consistent roles in the lineup, it's safe to say that they all may still be available.
Ultimately, the Los Angeles Kings need to make some moves this season if they are to sure up their goaltending and defense with the impending return of Drew Doughty, but with so much interest in Toronto, expect some type of trade to be coming in the not so distant future.
