A Vancouver Canucks prospect shows his displeasure with an American player in the handshake line after he didn't like how he handled himself.

It was a feisty affair on Friday in Gothenburg between Team Sweden and Team USA in the Gold Medal Game of the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Sweden was looking for their first gold medal in over ten years, but unfortunately for them, they'll have to wait a little while longer to hoist the trophy as the United States walked away victorious.

In the final minute of the game, things got chippy, including punches thrown, with gloves on, between a Swedish player and Montreal Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson.

However, cooler heads would prevail, but in the handshake line afterwards, Vancouver Canucks prospect Jonathan Lekkerimaki showed his displeasure with Cutter Gauthier after cross-checks in the final minute of the game.

"Typically all is forgiven in the handshake line but it seemed like Lekkerimäki still had something to say to Gauthier after his crosschecks in the final minute."

We'll have to see if the IIHF's Disciplinary Panel decides to hand out any punishment for the incidents during the Gold Medal Game, but it's safe to say that this group of Team USA and Team Sweden players are thankful to not face eachother anymore after several years of competition including at the Under-18 World Championship.
