J.T. Miller attempting to qualify for a major event in another professional sport
The Vancouver Canucks' season has been over for nearly a month now and all of their players are beginning to enjoy their off-season with family and friends, but one name on their roster has big aspirations for his summer.
Canucks forward J.T. Miller is attempting to qualify for the 123rd US Open Golf Championship, which is set to be held from June 15th to 18th at the Los Angeles Country Club.
"It is rare when a current professional athlete seeks to qualify for the US Open," said an article posted on the US Open's website. "National Hockey League standout J.T. Miller, 30, of Pittsburgh, Pa., is such a competitor."
The 30-year-old is set to will hit the course on Monday, May 15th at 'The Club at Nevillewood' in Presto, Pennsylvania in a local qualifying event alongside 77 other golfers. If Miller makes the cut, he'll advance to a final qualifying event which runs between May 16th and June 5th.
