The Vancouver Canucks may be without the services of defenceman Carson Soucy for Game 4 on Tuesday night and potentially beyond.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety is expected to summon Canucks defenceman Carson Soucy for a hearing after his cross-check on Connor McDavid.

"Sounds like there will be a hearing for Carson Soucy out of the end-of-game scrum in Edmonton last night" Friedman said.

The incident in question occurred following the final whistle at the end of the third period on Sunday night in Game 3 between the Oilers and Canucks. In a scrum in Vancouver's zone, McDavid and Soucy each slashed each other before the Canucks defenceman caught the Oilers captain in the face with a cross-check.

At the same time, Nikita Zadorov came in an cross-checked McDavid in the back. For his cross-check, Zadorov was given a $5,000 fine by the National Hockey League, according to Chris Johnston.

Soucy was given the only penalty on the play, for his cross-check and the NHL will now be reviewing it and having a phone hearing with the Canucks blue liner on Monday. It'll be interesting to see what comes of the hearing with Carson Soucy and how many games the league will suspend him for.
