Capitals' Ethan Bear entering NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program
Washington Capitals defenceman Ethan Bear is entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
Washington Capitals forward Ethan Bear is set to be away from the team for an indefinite period of time as he enters the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, Ethan Bear will be entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and won't be available to the team for the foreseeable future.
"#allcaps Ethan Bear is going to be away from the team for an indefinite period of time to receive care from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program." Seravalli said in a post on X.
Bear, 26, signed a two-year contract with the Washington Capitals in December after becoming an unrestricted free agent during the summer. Last summer, the Vancouver Canucks didn't issue him a qualifying offer, making him a UFA and due to an injury he suffered at the World Championship, wasn't able to play until the middle of the 2023-24 season.
In 24 games for the Capitals this season, Bear has recorded four points (one goal, three assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-five.
