Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness has undergone a minor medical procedure.

The Winnipeg Jets put out a statement on Tuesday morning regarding head coach Rick Bowness and his availability for tonight's game against the New York Rangers.

In the statement, the Jets announced that Bowness will not be behind the bench for tonight's game after undergoing a minor medical procedure and has returning to Winnipeg for treatment.

"The Winnipeg Jets today announced that head coach Rick Bowness will not be on the bench for tonight's game due to a minor medical procedure. As a result, he has returned to Winnipeg for treatment. He will return to the team once his condition improves. Associate coach Scott Arniel is serving as the interim head coach until Rick returns to the team." The Jets said in a statement on social media.

Bowness, 69, has been head coach of the Winnipeg Jets since the beginning of the 2022-23 season and so far in 2023-24, had led them to a 43-19-5 record through 67 games, which is good for first place in the Central Division as of Tuesday morning.

Everyone here at Blade of Steel sends their best wishes to Rick Bowness and hope to see him back behind the Winnipeg Jets bench as soon as he's able to.
