Connor Bedard invited surprising NHL prospect to stay with him
Not only is Connor Bedard an amazing center and the #1 selected player in the NHL draft this yearhe's also apparently an all-around great dude.
According to an Instagram post from @nhlbreakers, Bedard reportedly contacted Michkov after hearing his father had passed and offered condolences. Michkov talked about the correspondence in an interview, saying:
When I had the tragic news of my dad, Connor texted me; Everything will be fine, I'm with you. I've seen how you play, I know you'll make him proud. Stay strong. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.
Michkov reportedly replied to Bedard:
I know you aren't likely to be in Russia but if you are anytime let me know. I'm always happy to see you.
You would think with preseason starting soon, these prospects have too much going on and next to no spare time to do anything else. But sometimes, there are things bigger than the game.
