Jacob Trouba taken out by Corey Perry after dirty slewfoot

The New York Rangers are hosting the Tampa Lightning during Wednesday nights action.

During the first period Lightning winger Corey Perry goes into the corner with Rangers' defenceman Jacob Trouba, both players were going after the puck. Trouba unfortunately gets taken out by Perry and smashes his face off the ice. He went back to the bench briefly before going to the locker room.

That's a nasty play by Perry, one of many he's known for. Hopefully Trouba is okay after that play. The Rangers captain hasn't returned to play as of yet

At what point do plays like this stop? At some point one would think the NHL would step in, but I doubt that would actually happen.
