With every new season comes a renewed sense of hope and optimism for teams around the National Hockey League, but it seems like the injury bug has already made its way into some locker rooms. The Los Angeles Kings have been dealt a blow to their forward group.
According to Austin Stanovich of The Hockey News, Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson will be out long-term after suffering an injury on the first day of the regular season during practice; Take a look.
Originally thought to be week-to-week, now Arvidsson is expected to miss months due to a back injury. It's unclear wether not his injury will require surgery at this time.
Arvidsson, 30, played in 77 games for the Kings last season scoring 26 goals and adding 33 assists for a total of 59 points.
This is a tough break for the Kings no doubt as they'll lose a big part of their offence for some time. Hopefully for Arvidsson and Los Angeles he'll be able to return sooner rather than later.
