Team Canada Officially Reveals Cale Makar's Status Ahead of USA Clash
Team Canada has officially revealed whether or not Cale Makar will be playing tonight in the Four Nations matchup against the United States.
The Canadians did not get off to a perfect start in the tournament as they defeated Team Sweden in overtime in their first game, earning two out of a possible three points.
As a result, tonight's matchup against the United States will be particularly pivotal as the winner will likely head into the final with home ice advantage.
Unfortunately, Team Canada has already suffered a big blow with Shea Theodore missing the rest of the tournament after suffering an injury against Sweden.
Things got worse for the team this morning when it was revealed that superstar defenseman Cale Makar is suffering from an illness, and was listed as a game-time decision.
There was one good thing to come from this though. Thomas Harley, whom Team Canada called up to replace Theodore, was allowed to practice with the team this morning because Makar missed the event.
Now we know exactly what Canada's lineup will look like as they face their toughest game of the tournament.
Just moments ago, the team announced that Cale Makar will be out of tonight's game.
An absolutely devastating blow for team Canada ahead of the ultimate cash against the United States.
Many fans have questioned how much these games mean to these players as this is not the Olympics nor is it the NHL.
However, so far, it seems like everyone is taking these games very seriously, which has certainly made for some exciting hockey.
This morning, Team USA forward Matthew Tkachuk revealed how pumped up he is for the game against their biggest rivals.
Puck drop is at 8PM EST, so be sure to tune in to see if Tkachuk and the Americans will take a stranglehold on the tournament, or if Canada will claw back into the top spot in the bracket.
