Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes revealed how he really feels about Team USA at the Four Nations tournament.

Team USA will have an epic rematch against Canada later this week as the Four Nations faceoff tournament comes to a close.

One player that was expected to be a mainstay for the Americans is Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes, but he was sadly sidelined due to an injury prior to the event.

However, reports emerged earlier today indicating that Hughes would suit up for Team USA in the finale.

Unfortunately though, those reports may have been a bit premature as his status is once again up in the air.

Hughes, who was previously in New Jersey watching the tournament with family, has since flown back to Vancouver and was practicing with the Canucks this afternoon.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that he will not be flying back to Boston to join the team unless it is nearly certain he will play.

That seems unlikely as the team is currently down just one blueliner in Charlie McAvoy.

Friedman added that the team would need another injury in order for Hughes to be eligible.

That being said, it does seem like Hughes wants to play for the team.

Senior Athletic writer Thomas Drance reported today that Hughes 'really wants to' join his countrymen for the final game of the tournament, and that he is proud of the team's performance so far.

Meanwhile, Canada's top defenseman Cale Makar seems as though he will be in the final after he missed the last game against the Americans with an illness.

Regardless of who is or isn't in the lineup, the tournament finale should be a fantastic game of hockey, so you will not want to miss it.
