29-year-old defenceman among two placed on waivers
As we head into the weekend, a pair of NHL team placed players on the waiver wire.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, Patrick Brown of the Boston Bruins and Dakota Mermis of the Minnesota Wild have been placed on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to their respective American Hockey League teams.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Patrick Brown (BOS) and Dakota Mermis (MIN)." Johnston said.
Brown, 31, has appeared in six games for the Bruins this season, but has no points along with two penalty minutes and is a minus-one.
Mermis, 29, has five points (two goals, three assists), 21 penalty minutes and is a minus-one in 13 games with the Minnesota Wild during the 2023-24 campaign so far.
