AHL Hockey game shutdown by Tornado, fans forced to take cover
The United States is currently experiencing the worst tornado outbreak in over a decade. Hundreds of watches and warnings have been issued across the country as the outbreak continues.
Tonight the Laval Rockets were scheduled to face off against the Rockford Ice Hogs, but during the game a tornado warning sent fans fleeing for safety.
Fans were quickly ushered to the stairwells and safer area of the arena for cover.
Some fans elected to leave the arena and captured this footage.
After the threat finally passed the game was finally able to resume and after a brief warmup the teams continued the game.
