Daniel Amesbury is among the last of a dying breed, a true enforcer that plays the game rather hard, but has a penchant for getting in trouble where he plays. As such, earlier this month, Amesbury was suspended indefinitely by the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) in what was a rather controversial decision.
As such, many were wording if and when the 33-year old would ever suit up again and it looks like we finally have an answer to that question. Amesbury has signed a contract in the ECHL with the Fort Wayne Komets; take a look.
Amesbury, affectionately known as Diamond Hands' loves fighting more than most, wracking up 72 penalty minutes in 9 games before effectively being kicked out of the FPHL.
The ECHL's nickname is The Jungle' for a reason and it might just have a new king when Amesbury takes the ice for the first time as a Komet
