Alexander Ovechkin refuses to attend major event for the NHL
Alexander Ovechkin despite a down year has been invited to the all-star game, but the Washington Capitals star has let the NHL know whether he'll attend.
Alex Ovechkin is one of the most popular players in the entire NHL. Despite a down year, Ovechkin is still one of the most sought after players when it comes to fan interactions. With Ovechkin's career winding down, fans continue to hope for every opportunity to watch the superstar.
Despite fans wanting to see Ovechkin, The Great 8 isn't so open to showcasing his talents. Instead Ovechkin is hoping for a few extra days or rest and relaxation to help him continue his chase or Wayne Gretzky's goal record.
According to Tarik El-Bashir Ovechkin has informed the the Capitals that he isn't interested in attending this year's All-Star Game.
