Arizona Coyotes get roasted for embarrassing comment about the 'top prospect in the world's
Earlier today news broke that the Arizona Coyotes had begun the process of securing land for a potential new development site. The land could potentially be the home of the Coyotes next arena and would secure the organizations long-term home going forward.
The Coyotes this morning confirmed the information in a statement to their fans.
We can confirm that Coyotes Owner, Chairman & Governor Alex Meruelo has executed a Letter of Intent to purchase a parcel of land located in Mesa, Arizona to be the potential site for a sports arena and entertainment district for the Club. The Coyotes remain committed to building the first privately funded sports facility in Arizona history and ensuring the Valley as the Club's permanent home. In addition to this property in Mesa, the Club will continue to explore other potential sites in the East Valley.
The Coyotes went on to discuss how excited they are about next season, speaking about some of the additions the team made. That's where fans began to take exception with one particular comment.
Fans immediately took exception to the idea that Cooley could be considered the top prospect in the world and they let the Coyotes know about it.
It's clear that the Coyotes are excited about the prospect of having Logan Cooley in their lineup, but calling him the "best prospect in the world", couldn't be further from the truth. But if engagement was their intention the Coyotes have truly nailed it.
