The Ottawa Senators are in New York to take on the Rangers tonight as old teammates face off against one another for the first time after a trade that sent former Senator Tyler Motte to New York just a short time ago
Just over halfway though the first period, Sens forward Austin Watson caught Motte with a dirty elbow before being assessed a game misconduct, take a look:
Austin Watson received a five minute major for charging Tyler Motte and a game misconduct.
Watson was given a 5 minute major for charging on the play was kicked out of the game on the play sending the Rangers to an extended power play.
For players that were teammates just two weeks ago, there doesn't appear to be any let up by Watson here. I guess when you change teams. Everyone is your adversary, but this looks even worse because of how similar the two are with each other.
Motte has not returned to the bench and didn't accompany his teammates out for the second period.
If he willing to bet Watson will be hearing from the Department of player safety before too long.
