Auston Matthews teases throwing Mitch Marner's 500th career point puck into the crowd
Saturday night Mitch Marner recorded his five hundredth career point by scoring a power play goal against the Detroit Red Wings. It took Marner four hundred sixty-seven career games to get his five hundredth point. That is quite an accomplishment. After the goal was scored, Marner celebrated with his teammates.
Auston Matthews picked up the puck so he could save it for his fellow teammate's achievement. However, Matthews jokingly pretended to throw it into the crowd instead of giving the training staff who would have held the puck for Marner. Of course, Matthews only pretended to throw the puck in the stands, he gave it to the trainer anyways. See the replay of Matthews funny prank.
This was a funny joke that Matthews played on his fellow teammate. No doubt Matthews and Marner have continued to drive the offense for the Maple Leafs for many years. Look for Matthews and Marner to continue to put up big point totals as they try to carry the Maple Leafs and try to find some playoff success.
