Avalanche Coach provides update on Nazem Kadri after 'most dangerous play in hockey'
When Nazem Kadri was sent crashing into the boards early in the 1st period, it was clear to see the forward was hurt. While Kadri has no issue embellishing to draw a call, this definitely wasn't one of this situations. Kadri remained on the ice until a trainer arrived, he headed straight to the dressing room and didn't return.
Kane wasn't ejected from the game, but he did receive a 5-minute major for the hit. The Oilers were able to successfully kill off the penalty, but eventually fell 4-2, putting themselves on the brink of elimination.
After the game Jared Bednar provided the following update on Kadri and on the hit:
Yah he's out, he's out and he'll be out. For the series at least, if not longer. I mean the hit, it's the most dangerous play in hockey, I mean, it puts him in head first from behind. Y'know 8 feet off the boards. I'll leave it at that.
There is a very good chance Evander Kane receives a call today from NHL Department of Player Safety.
