After a couple of weeks of searching, it looks like the Florida Panthers have found their new bench boss. Coming off a season where they finished first in the Atlantic division and made it to the second round of the playoffs before being swept by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the battle of Florida.

Andrew Burnette was the Panthers interim head coach, who did a fantastic job at leading the panthers after taking over part way through the season, but ultimately, Florida decided to go in a different direction.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Panthers are set to introduce Paul Maurice as their new head coach.

Maurice had stepped away from coaching midway through last season and handed the rains over to Dave Lowry in Winnipeg, saying the Jets needed a new voice in the locker room and that he didn't know if he would be back behind an NHL bench in the near future. It appears that an opportunity to coach the Florida Panthers was too good to pass up for one of the gentlemen of the game.

I'm glad to see Maurice back and hope he can take Florida to the promised land
