With less then a minute left, the Winnipeg Jets were down 3-2 to the Boston Bruins. The Jets pulled their goalie and were in the Bruins' zone when Josh Morrisey raced in to battle for a loose puck. Morrisey was sent flying after the puck was knocked away. The Bruins went down and scored into the empty net. The Jets players were not happy and two of them were given misconducts.
The Bruins were already shorthanded and the refs were scared to give Charlie Coyle the penalty on a blatant trip.
The referees are too scared to affect the outcome of the game and instead do nothing, making it worse.
