Canadiens set to meet with a top prospect as Draft Combine begins
The NHL Draft Scouting Combine begins today at KeyBank Center and HarborCenter in Buffalo from May 30 to June 4. In total, 96 prospects were invited to the Combine including the top 3 of Shane Wright, Logan Cooley and Juraj Slafkovsky.
Today the Montreal Canadiens management will be meeting with potential 1st overall pick Shane Wright. The Canadiens currently have 14 picks in the 2022 draft with 7 in the first three rounds.
The Combine wasn't held in 2020 or 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seven of the 11 fitness tests will be held at HarborCenter on the final day of the Combine, including standing height, wingspan, standing long jump, bench press, pro agility test, pull-ups, and the Wingate Cycle Ergometer test.
A full list of 2022 participants hasn't been made public yet, but the list is expected to include 63 forwards (24 of whom are international), 30 defensemen and three goalies.
