This just in, the Montreal Canadiens season is coming to a disappointing end. With the team sitting dead last in the NHL, it's hard to believe especially because they were just 3 wins away from their 25th Stanley Cup last year.
The Canadiens new General Manager Kent Hughes has been assessing his team and trying to fix the mess left behind by Marc Bergevin. He's doing so by trading away veteran players in exchange for picks and prospects.
The one question that's been on many people's mind with the Canadiens rebuilding/retooling is, what are the Habs going to do with their franchise goaltender, Carey Price?
During the most recent 32 Thoughts Podcast, Sportsnet Hockey Insiders, Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek discussed the Carey Price situation. Marek and Friedman revealed that they believe that Habs GM, Kent Hughes is likely going to deal Carey Price:
Friedman: Do we see Carey Price again?
That's the only other thing for the rest of the season that I look at with them. Because if Carey Price comes back and plays, then I think there's a chance he's playing somewhere else next year.
Marek: I could see Carey Price coming back and playing somewhere else.
Carey Price hasn't played since losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Finals. Price is the winningest goaltender in Montreal Canadiens' franchise history,
