Carson Briere, the son of former NHL star and current Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere, has decided what he wants to do next after getting booted from his college hockey team. That said, finding any takers is likely going to be difficult.

According to GoErie.com, Briere has entered his name into the NCAA Division 1 transfer portal, meaning he's looking for a new school and new team to play for. The move comes just days after Briere was removed from Mercyhurst's University's men's team. The decision followed a video going viral that showed Briere pushing an unoccupied wheelchair down a flight of stairs at a party. The chair, which was damaged extensively in the fall, was owned by an amputee who was attending the festivities.

Briere is facing charges of criminal mischief, criminal conspiracy to commit mischief, and disorderly conduct due to his actions. All of these are considered misdemeanors. Despite that, nothing legally stops him from looking for a new team and school. He probably has a better chance of winning the lottery right now, though. Briere might have more of an opportunity if this were his first time getting kicked off a college hockey team. However, he was removed from Arizona State's hockey team in 2019 before he ever got the chance to play a game for them. The school would only say it was due to a violation of its rules. Long story short, he's a massive liability at the moment, and unlikely to get another chance in the college system unless someone does some serious and convincing lobbying on his behalf.
