Chaos Erupts at Game Following Heavy Hit; Hockey Dad Acts Like Child
Everything about this video is a bit bonkers. The action starts just three seconds in as a member of the home team drills a member of the away with a heavy hit. It gets crazier from there.
From what we can gather, this took place in Orland Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. With just over nine seconds left in the third and the home team up 4-2, the away player gets clobbered with a hit that drives him into the boards. Members of both teams start coming together at centre ice, with fists and sticks flying.
As the melee progresses, what we assume is a hockey dad starts banging on the glass. He then goes into full crazy mode, climbing the boards, hollering at players and seemingly encouraging what's happening on the ice. Just when it seems like things are dying down and the players are leaving the ice, hockey dad starts to walk away and gets himself a shove for acting like an idiot. That leads to multiple people in the audience getting into heated arguments. Just an embarrassing situation for the game all around.
