Chicago Blackhawks are currently shopping all but 3 players
The Chicago Blackhawks organization has been a dumpster fire since the news of Kyle Beach came out, it has crippled their legitimacy. The Hawks are doing everything in their power to rehabilitate their image as an organization, part of that involve beginning a complete rebuild of the product in the ice.
According to sources are wide open for business, that being said, there are veterans who have trade protection. In their deals. Seth Jones, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane all hold no movement clauses and won't be moved without their approval.
Everyone else is fair game, and after losing Marc-Andre Fleury their goaltender situation is unstable.
They're preparing for a rebuild so no one seems safe at the moment, including Kevin Lankinen who had a decent showing in 2020-2021 with a .909 sv% in 37 games but seemed to have fizzled out and only played 32 games this year, with a disappointing .891 S%
Scotty Bowman was replaced by Kyle Davidson last year and it looks like a course correction is in order, after moving Brandon Hagel and acquiring Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk and the 2023 1st round pick, he seems to move with better precision than Bowman already.
Bowman infamously gave up the team's 1st round last year for Seth Jones's expensive contract.
Pius Suter Signs With The Detroit Red Wings
It will be interesting where Alex DeBrincat could end up, as someone whose been a productive member of a bad Blackhawks team. He is due for a raise and the market return for him could be huge. Will Davidson be okay with losing a 40-goal scorer?
What is a lot? First-round picks, prospects, and NHL-ready players could be in play when it comes to trading Alex DeBrincat. The Blackhawks need all of those things as they are set to undergo a rebuild. Having Alex DeBricnat might hinder that process from being done the right way.
After losing Pius Suter last year and not giving him a qualified offer, and not getting assets for him, along with losing David Kampf, Davidson has to do the right thing for once, to easily make Scotty Bowman look bad and give the Blackhawks a chance at competitiveness once again.
